So you want to know more about what Greek life at Concordia is and what it means to be part of a sorority or fraternity?
The Inter-Fraternity Council was founded on March 18th, 1964 at Concordia University. It is a student group comprised of 4 fraternities and 5 sororities.
These organizations are groups of students that are centered around the values of philanthropy, sisterhood, and brotherhood.
We value diversity, integrity, honesty, and promote high academic standards within the Greek community at Concordia University and Université de Montreal.
Currently, we support the Big Brother and Big Sister of Montreal as our philanthropic organization, helping to promote our local community. We provide opportunities for leadership experiences through executive positions within the IFC and each organization. We also provide community service opportunities through philanthropy events that each organization and the IFC hosts.
Many members of the Greek organizations at Concordia have developed lifelong friendships and professional connections. Most importantly, Greek Life helps support self-development as men and women for each member. You can expect support, encouragement, and endless memories as a member of a Greek organization at Concordia University and Université de Montreal.
"United we stand, divided we fall."
At the beginning of each semester, each organization begins a period of recruitment called "rush", where they hold events for interested undergraduate students to discover what each organization is about. To find out more about when these recruitment events take place and where, you can look at the organizations' websites or visit them at the Clubs Fair in September or Universal Rush in January (see Recruitment for these) or during their events (find their schedule on their social medias here: The Organizations.
